The weekend means at least one movie night for me and my family. Derek and Caitlin choose what they want to see and climb into bed with me. William turns the air conditioner on and sits in his recliner. Derek tells us he has to get munchies and runs to the kitchen. Soon the bed is full of cookies and chips. He usually brings drinks as well. By then Jasper is curled up in one of the bed’s corners asleep.
The movie begins, we are all relaxed and enjoying each other’s’ company. Cait likes to ask, “What’s going to happen next?” Derek usually tells her to just “Shut up and watch the movie.” She laughs, I think she does it to bother him.
William looks at me and we smile at each other. Life is good!
