The poet loves to write about her muse.
Every verse that she writes fits with the words he said to her.
The artist loves to draw his muse in silence.
In the silence that they both love to have, one time or another.
The journalist makes comments about him in every interview,
As if she was talking with him in that moment.
The architect loves to construct buildings for her.
He spends day and night trying to search for something similar to her beauty but he knows there isn’t and there will never be anything like her.
The geneticist loves to spend time in her lab.
Her favorite part is when she’s trying to decode her genes and he comes and watches her with admiration.
The engineer is trying to decide where to build next.
His favorite part is when she shows up and motivates him.
In every life, hers and his, they were destined to find each other and love each other.

This poem belongs to my recent collection, Fresh Air in a World of Chaos. The narrator is talking about these two individuals that have different jobs and lives but somehow find each other. For me, if that person is meant to be, they will find you—one way or another. I think my favorite line of this poem is, “Her favorite part is when she’s trying to decode her genes and he comes and watches her with admiration” In my mind that scene replays and he doesn’t even greet her, he just stares in awe from the corner, while the song “Turning Page,” by Sleeping at Last plays in the background.
