1511, 1868, 1950, 2019.
What do these years have in common?
These are dates when our people got tired. Tired of the oppression,
of living below people who only care about their riches,
of living below people who do not respect our lands,
of living below people who are corrupt.
1511- El Grito de Coayuco or the Rebellion of the Taínos
1868- El Grito de Lares
1950- The Nationalist Insurrection
2019- The Summer of ‘19
These are dates when people fought for their rights, fought for their lands, fought for their freedom and the freedom of all Puerto Rico.
They fought for justice.
I ask you: Are you not tired?
Of the injustices our island faces every day, of the corrupt people who only give us hypocritical speeches, that only inspire fear to keep us submissive, of the government that each day sells off more and more of our island.
Are you not tired of keeping calm and staying quiet?
NOW is the time to talk, the time to act, to protest and Fight for justice and the respect we deserve.
To fight for our island,
before they sell it off and destroy it and we are left without a Puerto Rico to defend.
